Any water-based ink and markers work well with the 160-gsm paper in our journals.

We recommend avoiding alcohol-based inks such as the Copic or Prisma markers as those require a special kind of paper entirely.

A few easy steps!

1. Select the personalized option for your journal.
2. During checkout, provide your details in the special instructions box. You can personalize three initials on the cover, and a roman numeral on the spine.
3. If you are getting multiple personalized journals, please specify which journal will have which personalizations.

Our signature notebooks use 160 gsm paper, designed to work with a variety of mediums. While this is lighter than true watercolour paper (typically 200 gsm), many customers have successfully used watercolour with a light hand and minimal water.

Yes! Because many of our items are handmade to order, small variations in design placement may occur. These subtle differences are a natural part of the handmade process and make each piece uniquely yours.

We want you to love our products as much as we do, but if you wish to make a return, please reach out.

We are happy to accept returns on select items, provided they are in their original condition at the time of dispatch. Please reach out to our team at info@openbookclub.ca to initiate a return.

Buyers are responsible for the shipping costs incurred to ship items back to us. Once items are inspected and accepted, your return will be processed within 4-5 business days and credited to your original method of payment.

Please note: Personalized items are not eligible for returns.

We aim to ship orders as quickly as possible! If your order is still in the processing stage, you can reach out to our team at info@openbookclub.ca to edit a cart after your order has been confirmed. Unfortunately, orders cannot be edited once they have been shipped.

If your order includes personalized items and the personalization process has begun, we are unable to edit the order. It's best to reach out to us ASAP so we can do our best to help!

Orders ship out within 5-6 business days.

Please note that during the holidays, processing time can vary from 6 to 8 business days.

Beyond the standard processing time of 1-2 business days, shipping time depends on your preferred shipping option:

Untracked lettermail: $2.95 (4-5 business days)

Standard Domestic: $14.90 (5-7 business days)

Express Domestic: $21.90 (1-2 business days)
